Christina Savage, a native Tennessean, born and raised in White County Tennessee. She moved to Mount Juliet in 1999.
Christina has always been involved with caring for others. Once she had to help an Emergency Room Doctor with her sister’s knee laceration, at that moment she knew medicine was cool and something she wanted to do. After High School, she attended Tennessee Technological University School of Nursing. She received her Bachelor Degree at Tennessee Tech and planned to go into anesthesia. She quickly realized anesthesia was not what she wanted to do. She wanted patients she could talk to and interact with. Therefore, after graduation, Christina worked at Baptist Hospital on a Medical Surgical floor for 4 years. She was able to care for numerous post-operative patients and their families. One day while at Baptist, she had an experience with a patient that led her to go back to school. She had a patient in need of medicine in which she could not give without a doctor’s order. She watched the patient wait and realized that she could do much more for her patients as a nurse, if she went back to school.
In 2000, Christina entered Belmont University’s Family Nurse Practitioner program. While at Belmont she had the opportunity to meet Bruce and Jim (owners of Mount Juliet Family Care) and she trained with them, learning and developing her skills as a nurse practitioner. She graduated from Belmont in 2003 and has spent the last seven years working at a Family Practice in the Mount Juliet area and was pleased to join the staff at Mount Juliet Family Care in fall of 2009.
When not working, Christina enjoys spending time with her husband Mark and their kids, Wade and Emma on their farm in Sparta.
